From Ashy Highlights to a Sun-Kissed Balayage Glow
Alyssa came in with chunky ashy highlights and wanted a more natural, lived-in look. I used Wella’s Color Touch 7/03 and 7/1, mixed in equal parts on her root, feathering it down for a soft blend. To balayage, I used Freelights with 30 volume for controlled lift and a bright yet healthy result. After rinsing, I glazed her hair with Wella’s Relights /03 to add warmth and shine, leaving her color beautifully balanced and dimensional. Color corrected!
This transformation was all about creating a seamless gradient from root to tip. The goal was to soften the contrast from her previous highlights while maintaining brightness around her face. Balayage is perfect for this. It grows out gracefully and looks effortlessly sun-kissed. The tones of 7/03 and 7/1 gave just the right balance of warmth and neutral beige to complement her complexion.
After styling, Alyssa’s hair looked glossy, natural, and full of movement. The balayage technique added depth at the roots and lightness through the ends, giving her that perfectly blended, low-maintenance color. This look is ideal for anyone wanting a softer transition from root to blonde, with a natural glow that flatters every season.
